Matching jewellery to your face shape

Have you sometimes found yourself wondering whether a piece of jewellery matches your skin tone, or whether those earrings really suit the shape of your face?
Often, choosing jewellery isn’t as simple as it would appear. Merely finding something pretty may not be enough- it would be a better idea to take those other factors into consideration.

So this week, we’re tackling face shape.

Square
For the square face, longer necklaces are better for adding length, but need to be soft and delicate. Also, use gentle, elongated earrings to help with length.

Rectangular
Shorter necklaces for adding width work well for rectangular faces, but need to be soft. A thin choker can work very well. Short earrings should be worn to avoid elongating the face further.

Round
Those with a round face need to add length by using more dainty jewellery rather than large jewellery to avoid adding thickness to the face and neck. Use elongated or angular shapes in earrings or teardrop earrings.

Triangle
For triangular faces, it is best to avoid necklaces that end in a point. Long necklaces can be worn as long as they counteract the sharp angles of the face, such as a string of pearls. Delicate chokers work well, teamed with longer earrings to help lengthen face.

Heart-Shaped
The heart shape is softer than the triangle, and therefore can wear chokers and thicker necklaces. Longer earrings should be worn to help lengthen face, but earring which are wider at the top than the bottom are the perfect choice.

Both Diamond and Oval
These face shapes are very lucky, and can generally get away with wearing any kind of jewellery!

Choosing the best jewellery for your face shape can be tricky and confusing, but hopefully this will be able to help you with your choices! Generally, it’s all about counteracting certain aspects of the shape of your face, whilst of course feeling comfortable with your choice of jewellery.
